Lainey Wilson delivered a memorable performance of a song that earned her recognition from Paramount Network’s popular series, Yellowstone, during the 15th Annual ACM Honors.

“I am representing Yellowstone and it’s just – I’m getting to perform the very first song of mine that ever made it onto Yellowstone, “Workin’ Overtime” – it was [on] season two, episode one, and I’ll never forget just thinking ‘how cool is it that I get a song in this hit TV show, Yellowstone,’” Wilson explained ahead of her performance. “Next thing you know, a couple of years later, I am going to be in the show. It’s just weird! I’m honored and I’m humbled and I’m so glad that I get to honor Yellowstone.”

In honor of Yellowstone receiving the ACM Film Award, the chart-topping hitmaker delivered an energy-filled performance of “Workin’ Overtime,” a track from her self-titled EP. Joined by a full band, Wilson effortlessly belted out the lyrics to the tune and allowed her excellent stage presence to shine vibrantly during the coveted awards ceremony.

Ahead of her performance, Wilson shared an update about her upcoming appearance on Yellowstone, where she will play the role of a musician named Abby.

“It’s been great, you know, the whole cast and crew – everybody that has anything to do with Yellowstone has been so kind, supportive – I mean, I’m getting to learn from the best,” Wilson shared. ”They truly are the best and I didn’t know what to expect, but they put the bridges on me the same way we do, and they are good people who love what they do and are good at what they do.”

Wilson, who is currently in the process of filming for her upcoming role in the state of Montana, detailed her character in the show. The character in the show was created with her mind as she will play the role of a musician playing her original music.

“Everybody, the whole cast and crew, everybody’s been so great and has just made me feel welcome,” the reigning ACM New Female Artist Of The Year explained. “I’m getting to learn from the best. It’s truly just a blessing for me to have this opportunity, for me to share more of my music with the world.”

She continued to describe her character on Yellowstone as someone she identifies with.

“It’s pretty much me. And it’s cool, I’m getting to sing my own songs, I’m getting to wear my get-up, I just go by the name Abby, so it’s awesome. It really is,” Wilson said with a smile.

Yellowstone Season 5 premieres Sunday (Nov. 13) at 8/7c on Paramount Network. In addition, Wilson is also preparing to release her new album, Bell Bottom Country, which will feature her latest single “Heart Like A Truck” and “Watermelon Moonshine.” The album is set for release on October 20 and is the follow-up to 2021’s Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’.
